Why does my strikethrough disappear on some platforms?

Some platforms (LinkedIn, iMessage) sanitize combining characters out of usernames and posts. The text remains, but the strike is removed. This is intentional anti-spoofing and we don't try to defeat it.

Does this look accessible to screen readers?

No — combining characters are typically read as the base letter, ignoring the strike. Don't use this for accessibility-critical content.

Will my text still be searchable?

Yes on most platforms — search engines and platforms typically normalize/strip combining marks before indexing, so "s̶a̶l̶e̶" is still indexed as "sale".
