Frequently asked questions
Which citation styles are supported?
APA 7th edition, MLA 9th edition, Chicago, and Harvard, for website, book, and journal-article sources.
How do I enter multiple authors?
Separate them with a semicolon, each as “First Last”, e.g. “Jane Doe; John Smith”. The tool formats them per style (et al. is applied where the style requires it).
Does it format titles in italics?
Output is plain text so it pastes cleanly anywhere; apply italics to book/journal titles in your document as your style guide requires.
Is this a substitute for checking the style manual?
It covers the common cases accurately, but always verify edge cases (corporate authors, no date, DOIs) against your institution’s style guide.
