Frequently asked questions

How many words is one page?

Roughly 500 words single-spaced or 250 double-spaced for a standard 12pt font — pick the preset that matches your formatting.

How are sentences counted?

By the number of sentence-ending marks (., ! or ?). Abbreviations can occasionally inflate the count slightly.

How are paragraphs counted?

By blank lines between blocks of text.

Is the page count exact?

It’s an estimate — actual pages depend on font, margins, spacing and headings.
